      Driving me crazy, won't start

A couple of nth ago I bought a 2004 aveo, timing belt snapped so I removed the head, installed the new valves and put everything back together, now the car won't start unless I put gas down the intake, after that it will start up and stay running until I turn off the key, while it is running it runs extremely rich, and when I drive it down the road it will not shift gear until it hits the redline, before the timing belt broke it ran great, and direction or ideas would be great

Could be the camshaft position sensor. I'm not sure though. Maybe one of the other members can chime in on this one.

Do you have any check engine lights or anything? Did you do the timing belt yourself?

A quick description like this I would say you might have two issues. But both can result from sitting. I would check fuel pressure, if you can start the car by putting gas in it, but it won't start on its own, it sounds like you have a fuel leak, pressure issue. Clogged filter, leak down, but I believe could also result from vacuum issues as well.

The redline issue is a different one. Assuming the car runs normally once started. You might need to figure out if the RPM signal is going to the transmission.

If you did the work yourself or did not, you need to go through an verify that everything is installed properly, grounds, vacuum lines, etc.
