Don't want to be the turd in the punchbowl, but something caused your cat to get trashed out. And whatever that was (likely raw gas) is probably still happening. Hope I'm wrong, but I think your problems aren't over on this yet.

i realize this, and just doing an oil change i realized my oil dip stick is not correct for the vehicle. it is too short, with 4qt it barely touches the stick. when i had it changed last they put at least 5qt in it.
nope, it was a black stick that said oil, flat wire, 10' long.
i got one from a pick and pull place looking for a cat, yellow handle, round wire, couple of "z' bends, 12 1/4" long.
So that means this engine has been way overfilled for a long time, which is not a happy thing. How has it been running since you cleaned out the cat?
When I first got the car I put 4qt of royal purple in. Its only been overfilled since the valves were done a couple thousand miles. And it runs pretty good. Noisy, but no rough idle or hesitation. Also normal mpg. My last tank got me 146miles before I gutted the cat.
since i got the car average was 27mpg, the last tank(11gal to fuel light) before gutting the cat got 146 miles, im only at 2/3 tank now, but its looking around 27mpg ish.
sound like you figured out some sort of solution, but the misfire is still occurring is it not?
with the car running mist water over the spark plug wires and coil pack. If you see sparks or the car stalls, you need to replace stuff.
it didnt misfire for over a week/ full tank of gas.
now its misfiring again. it doesnt run rough except at idle.
it also smells badly of unburnt gasoline.
