Post Front Driver Side Rubbing/scraping sound.

I have a 2007 Aveo5, manual. I have just developed a weird rubbing noise that a mechanic friend of mine thinks could just be a small stone/piece of sand lodged in by my break pad. It's mostly when i take left turns, but sounds pretty brutal when I'm breaking.
I got the car from my Grandpa, who bought it from the dealership brand new.

      Any advice/suggestions?

The wheel bearings were changed at 150k miles. I currently have 194k miles on it.

Try spraying some grease on the sway bar bushings.

Could be pads, or a wheel bearing....jack it up and look it over.

So, a friend of mine and I jacked the sucker up. Breaks were definitely changed. Had to replace both rotors, both sets of pads, and one caliper. There's still a little squeaking, but it could just be the new pads. It's hard to tell.

The rotor was worn into, on the driver's side. And both back pads were nonexistent... Both calipers had a sticky break thingy.... That's like a little hollow plunger, with a rubber tub around it. The plunger has a hole in it, and holds the caliper to the car, itself. My brain is hating me, right now..

Otherwise, i have problems with my cams...... One isn't spinning right (timing, we think), and it's chewing up gas faster than i know what to do with. We changed the sensor, but to no avail.
