Fuel door will not open 06 Aveo hatch LT

Hello good folks, I am in need of your assistance. Cannot get the fuel door open on my 06 Aveo hatch LT. I've tried a search here and have only seen topics where the little black pin has broken. I cannot get the black pin to retract allowing the door to open.
Can anyone help?

Got it open. Wrapped some tissue around a knife and used that to pry the door open. hope i didn't bend the door any suggestions to stop it sticking in the future? Gonna spray the bits I can see with WD-40...

Use a silicon lubricant or chain lube or something. WD-40 won't last.

Agreed. White lithium or silicone spray is what I would use. Don't even know that I own any WD-40 at the moment.
