Is this the fuel filter? Aveo 5 2009

A mechanic told me aveo 09 there is no external filter on the 09 aveo 5.....fuel filter is inside the tank, part of the fuel pump.

But is this not a fuel filter?

That is the Charcoal Canister. If you don't know what that is I'll be happy to explain it. Your mechanic is correct, the Fuel Filter is the "sock" on the pump inside the tank.

The 09 Aveo5 (US Version) should not have a user replaceable fuel filter. Trust me, I spent at least 20 minutes tracing the fuel system up and down on my car looking for it.

On a related note, I have the OEM fuel filter (Brand new) for those that are serviceable available for sale. I will update with the part number later by this weekend

Thanks guys, I thought it looked a bit to complex to be a fuel filter, now I know... so much for a $10 fix
