Gasket Replacement
I know you should replace your gaskets every time you take something off or replace a part on the engine, but i just bought a new one. I, like many people, have had throttle body issues that i dont wont to get into right now. So i took my whole throttle body off two days ago after i waited a few days till i could get a throttle body gasket from my part store, its a special order part that no one carries in store around here. I cleaned the **** out of everything trying to get it to work, it didnt! But what i want to know is, ive only had the new gasket on for two days and i need to buy a whole new throttle body at this point, can i get away with not waiting for a new gasket and just swapping the bodies?

It's more like an O-ring with index tabs on it, so you should be fine to reuse it in the new TB. Just make sure you didn't pinch it or anything funky, which is hard to do! I always apply your rule when the seal is very hard to get at, like water pump, or trans seals!

It'll be fine. Its good to replace gaskets, but I have gotten away so many times not replacing them that I pretty much think its optional unless you destroy it replacing it or its a head gasket or something critical. In the very unlikely event that you do have a vacuum leak, its really not much work to replace it.
