I FINALLY was able to get a mechanic who was able to diagnose what is wrong with my 2004 Aveo Sedan.

The head that the guy I purchased the car from was purchased from "Clearwater Cylinder Head" or "Odessa Cylinder Head".

I called them and they are willing to replace the head under warranty, but since I am not the person who purchased the head, they are going to make me pay shipping. My mechanic told me NOT to do it, but instead to use the head I have as a CORE, and buy a quality re-manufactured head.

He found a head for $468.75 and told me that he could install it for this price:

$470 - Head
$100 - Shipping on head
$150 - Head Gasket
$ 80 - Oil, Oil filter and coolant
$450 - Labor

Total: $ 1,250.00

Is that what you would expect to pay to replace a head??

Anyone around the Massachusetts area that has these skills and would be willing to replace it for less??? :P
