      Heater Core Replacement

anyone ever done it to their aveo, themselves?
im not interested in taking it in to a shop if i can can get reasonable instructions off the internet.
i already purchased a new heater core,
as mine is currently vomiting coolant all over my carpets.

does it require removing the entire dash?
or just popping out the glove box and reaching behind?
will i need to vacuum out my freon or just dump the coolant?

ive seen it referred to as a ten hour job, but with the familiarity i have with this car
after all the work and maintenance, i cant see much of anything taking that long.
      but i could be wrong.

and advice, pictures, tips, would be appreciated

I don't think replacing a heater core is ever a fun / quick job.

im not 100% sure it couldn't be done through the glovebox, especially if your willing to "modify" for it to work.. which is unacceptable for a mechanic to do to a customer car.

Well, I found a good deal on the heater core+housing on ebay.
I've had it for a while now, and it only has three bolts to mount it,
which I should be able to reach. Unless the vents are in the way.
Its getting ridiculously hot already, so I'm gonna have to do it sooner
Or later. If I get it figured out, ill give a detailed explaination.
It could save a few hundred for you guys in the future.
