Take the over drive button off or the shift lock button off or lots of things off. What year and are you running an auto? Any check engine lights?
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

Did the autos come with a 5 speed? My 2006 has a manual 5 speed. So if it's manual, do you have to push on the accelerator to keep your energy up? Does the car shut down when you let off the accelerator and go to idle?

'really high' doesn't tell us anything. Post the RPMs corresponding to a few MPH set points, such as 30, 50, 60.

Ok basically what happens when I start my car it sits and revs up and down between 500 rpm and 1500 rpm until it warms up and then as I'm driving down the road going 50 mph in fifth gear my rpms sit at 3200 rpm and when on the highway going 70mph my rpms are at 4000 rpm

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Did this start happening all at once, or gradually increasing? Any repair or maintenance done recently which might have left a hose loose?
