Help Needed: Key Fob only locks, Doesn't Unlock Car Doors After Battery Was Replaced.

Hello people...

My issue:

I had the battery on my 2007 Aveo/Kalos replaced recently (I have a suspicion something is causing battery to be drained faster than it should) and since then, the key fob isn't able to unlock the car at the press of the button.

It will only locks doors, but WON'T unlock them.
I get the click on the doors when I press unlock, but have to manually open the driver door.

Also, I have a bunch of other electrical faults... Both back windows not opening, the passenger side winger mirror not moving, the radio cutting off while driving and now not playing at all...

Also the backlight on the gearbox requires a tap before it turns on.

I'm wondering if all this is connected to faulty wiring... I have close to zero knowledge on cars and electronics, tbh, so any help is greatly appreciated.

The key is the one that's bothering me. The others I don't mind so much.

I recently had a battery replaced, check that both buttons are free and clear of the plastic moulding on the key body, as any bad alignment when re-fitting the cover may result in a key malfunction. Mine was "on" lock/unlock from new and played havoc with other wireless devices (doorbell) in the house the same frequency.

I don't know if your car is different in the UK than those in the US but I would start at the wiring harness to you rear hatch. On many cars with this, instead of a sedan with a trunk, the wiring wears from flexing over all the times you open and close the hatchback to get in and out of the car. If some wires are rubbed through enough to touch electrically, it could cause lights not to work, the electric locking circuit , other things that tie into wiring in other areas of the car. I know on my Son's Escort wagon that his latch for the hatchback went bad, causing the fuse for the electric locks to blow, once I replaced the locking mechanism and fuse, everything worked again. Did you have the battery load tested? Does the car start normally, did it with the old battery too? If you are having issues while driving with the electronics in the car, your alternator might be the cause too, not sure of the terminology in the UK for some of these things. I know if the alternator is not putting out enough power that electronics, like the ECU for the car, the radio, etc, will act really odd. Sorry if this is a lot, more came to mind as I was typing.
