Recently changed the upstream 02 sensor on my 09 Aveo5 and the original error code is gone but I now have a P0053 code that I cannot get rid of.

I originally used an inexpensive 02 sensor and upon reading posts here it looks like that was a bad idea so I ordered an ACDelco at 3x the price. Will that be sufficient to get rid of the code or are there other steps I should take to ensure success? I’ve read about using a scan tool to perform a learn reset, but I don’t have a tool. Will disconnecting the battery accomplish the same thing?
