Idle Issue...
Wow, my car has a little over 3000KM's and already an issue.
When the car is warmed up pretty good, when I get to a stop, the engine dies. Sometimes it will make it but it stalls at stops.
I see the RPM gauge go down really fast and then either stalls or comes back up and studders.
I have an appointement for an oil change I'll talk to the service guy.
But dang, I'm disapointed that I'm having issues already.

Re: Idle Issue...
could be a vacuum line or maybe the usual tune up stuff (air filter, plugs, wires, fuel system cleaning)

Re: Idle Issue...
I could see maybe a vac line being deffective but it's a new car, shouldn't need a tune up yet...

Re: Idle Issue...
There is a recall, dealing with the fuel line .. maybe the prob ur having? not sure how it would work... but figured id at least mention it

Re: Idle Issue...
Vertain models had a ECU recall from what I remember. But my money is that it is a vaccum issue. Take it to the dealership, have them check it out. With 3000Km on the car, it should be well within warranty reapir.

Re: Idle Issue...
bring to dealer and post back.

Re: Idle Issue...
it's under warranty, don't waste your time here. Post the outcome though.

Re: Idle Issue...
ECU issue was that the ECU was dying due to cold. You couldn't start it whatsoever. This isn't it... vacuum as mentioned, or bad IAC valve... try a reset (reset the ECU and then do the IAC reset):
Idle Air Control Valve Reset Procedure
Whenever the battery cable or the Engine Control Module (ECM) connector or the ECM fuse EF22 is disconnected or replaced, the following idle learn procedure must be performed:
Turn the ignition ON for 5 seconds.
Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds.
Turn the ignition ON for 5 seconds.
Start the engine in park/neutral.
Allow the engine to run until the engine coolant is above 185°F (85°C).
Turn the A/C ON for 10 seconds, if equipped.
Turn the A/C OFF for 10 seconds, if equipped.
If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transaxle, apply the parking brake. While pressing the brake pedal, place the transaxle in D (drive).
Turn the A/C ON for 10 seconds, if equipped.
Turn the A/C OFF for 10 seconds, if equipped.
Turn the ignition OFF. The idle learn procedure is complete.

Re: Idle Issue...
When I first bought my Aveo back in 04 a similar problem developed where it kept stalling everytime I came to a traffic light. I was told by the dealership that it was a vacuum line installed when the car was built that was not long enough, and had stretched to the point of ripping. Thus causing a leak. Line replaced, problem solved. Just an idea.

Re: Idle Issue...
Thanks guys! I like to get info here first before the dealer tries to sneak one by me.
It does look like the vac like symptoms. I'm taking it in tomorrow and will keep you posted.
