Re: Idle Issue...
UPDATE....
They told me to wait and see if a CEL would come on. LMAO! I said, sure, it could also be bad gas because it's since last fillup. But trust me, it's not over yet, he knew by the look I had when he said that. I'll let it ride longer, if no one does anything, I'm seing the owner directly. If that doesn't work, GM Canada. I'm getting tired of crap like that.

Re: Idle Issue...
The only vacuum line big enough to give you trouble is the brake booster line. Check it. If you hear some hissing, you'll know right away it's leaking. It could also be the air filter compartment that is not properly shut. Check that also.
If the fuel tank is half full, get a fill up. Other than that, I'd say try another dealership if there is one that is close enough. Maybe call a Pontiac dealership and see if they can give you warranty on it.

Re: Idle Issue...
For reals,
Take it to a different dealership. If the dealer you took it to is telling you to wait for a light to come on, they are not a decent service shop to begin with. When I take my car to the dealer for any service related work, they ask me what the problem is, then take it back to the shop to check it. If it is a real issue (like when they replaced the heater core), they fix it. If it isn't an issue (I took it in for my MP3 player, and found it was just the burner I was using causing scratches in the disk), they checked it out completely and explained that it was the CDs or the burner I was using, not the player. Either way, no cost to check it out.
Remember, they work for you. Your car is under warranty, if they are not honoring that warranty, then you need to take it to a decent dealership, and wage a complaint with GM over the service of that dealership.
If your car is not running correctly, THEY need to fix it. And for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles, they have an obligation to do so, to YOUR satisfaction.
That is part of what you pay for with a new car. It is included with the price.

Re: Idle Issue...
What do you do if the CEL doesnt come on, and the car isnt blowing any codes to be found and it still runs like garbage? Vacuum problem? Can you disconnect the battery and reset the ECM to see if that makes any difference which wouldnt in a vacuum leak problem. I would do what gene said and find a reputable dearlership and get your answer once and for all. I would tend to believe that if it were a tps, map,or oxy sensor problem than that would alert the ECM and trigger the CEL.

Re: Idle Issue...
Quite a weird thing... Now it hasn't happened in a good while. I think it might have been bad gas... I have sincde filled up at least 3 times and no issues.
