      Idle Surge

My 04 Aveo runs great other then it surges on idle or in park. No error codes. A little worse with AC on. Sometimes while the car is running and in park the idle will stay high and not drop at all or just surge really bad. I have cleaned throttle body, looked at hoses/wires and checked sensors. I cannot find anything. Just turned 103K mi and I have always serviced the car as recommended. Please help!

Did you try removing the IAC valve from the TB and cleaning it?

I'd agree with avguy, while also checking for any holes in your exhaust.

      Happy driving!

      Hi! xtrabonus,

Mine revs to 3K on cold start and comes down and then it idles weird and then idles fine! Will clean that IAC valve, and check exhaust, any other solved problems?

check your temp sensors, you might just be going into cold start (high idle) when you don't need it.
