My only suggestion, go back to the old coil pack and swap spark plugs to see if the problem follows the spark plug. The only issue I can think that the new coil packs are not being grounded properly. check the connector carefully.

Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....
I've replaced 4 coil packs on my 2006 aveo. they seem to last 6-8mos then fail again. car does not overheat. bad design? what could cause this repeated failure?
There's good news and bad news. These are just a crappy product although the GM units have a warranty. I've had to replace these things several times. The last one was made in Poland. When driving with a misfire, the aft catalytic converter plugs up and you have to replace the entire aft cat. The good news is that you can remove the cat and the Aveo runs just fine without it, with only the CEL illuminated. It would be nice if someone made a Toyota-type replacement. The rest of the car is quite excellent otherwise.
