Intermittent no start (resolved)

Just bought a 2005 5 door and the next morning it wouldn't start, but then would 15 minutes later. Next morning, same thing. Cranks fine, but that's it. Happened twice more before the weekend.

Pulled a plug wire and arced it to a valve cover bolt with a screwdriver and had fire. Last time it happened it would start for 2 seconds and die. This happened probably 15 times and then it started and I drove it home on Saturday. Wouldn't start again at all. Put a little fuel in the intake and it would run until the gas ran out and then mabey get a shot or so from the pump (had momentary throttle response) and die.

No trouble codes??!!

Anywho, checked all the fuses and connections, tried switching relays and nothing. Sooo...I installed a new fuel pump and then I was back to the 2 seconds running and die.

Don't know if it mattered, but the key was in the switch when I disconnected the battery. Tried the spare electronic key and it ran like new. Put the other key back in and got the same result. Weird stuff. Must have gotten bit by the security when I disconnected with the first key in the switch...dunno.
