Keyless Entry (stock on 2004 Aveo LS?) - does the hatch release remotely too?

Hello,
I've looked around for a solution to this with no luck.
I recently bought a 2004 Aveo LS hatchback. its got power locks and keyless entry which is fantastic. I'm beginning to think that the keyless entry was not stock, but i want to make sure.

Is the keyless entry supposed to unlock and lock the rear Hatch?

i dont want to tear the thing apart it if i dont have to.

The FOBs i have for the car only have 2 buttons (lock and unlock) instead of what most people seem to have (three buttons). My fobs have chevy symbols on them and function for the 4 doors, just not the hatch. i can open the hatch with the key just fine.

Remote locking/unlocking was a feature on the '04 LS:

I'm honestly not sure if it should also work on the hatch lock though. Someone else will have to chime in.

I looked at how easy it was to disassemble the hatch area(a few annoying plastic plugs and 2 screws) opened it up found the electronics to the drivers side.(removed the assembly with an 8mm socket, opened it up to find a tiny dc motor and gear assembly) Turns out the Motor has dead spots where it doesn't turn when voltage is applied, so I disconnected it to avoid accidental unlocks in case it hits a live spot. Ill be looking for a replacement tonight. I'll let you know what I find. I might even post some pictures.
