Keyless Entry (stock on 2004 Aveo LS?) - does the hatch release remotely too?

I looked at how easy it was to disassemble the hatch area(a few annoying plastic plugs and 2 screws) opened it up found the electronics to the drivers side.(removed the assembly with an 8mm socket, opened it up to find a tiny dc motor and gear assembly) Turns out the Motor has dead spots where it doesn't turn when voltage is applied, so I disconnected it to avoid accidental unlocks in case it hits a live spot. Ill be looking for a replacement tonight. I'll let you know what I find. I might even post some pictures.
