      Left front headlight not working

      Hi guys,

the left head light of my 2009 aveo is not working anymore.
the turning signal works, the high beam works.
the daytime running light ansd the lowbeam does not work on the left side.

I wanted to change it myself, but was wondering what should I buy?

is my bulb not working or the switch, or socket?

I believe it's the bulb, but I am not 100%, I would appreciate your feedback.
I just want to make sure I don't buy things I wont use.

      thanks!

      Ben

Do we really need to make our forum that intimidating for a member to post a question?

Correcting any problem is a matter of elimination. Without testing equipment, a new bulb is the place to start.

If money is real tight, you could pull the bulb from the other side to test the one that's out. Be advised that headlights tend to go out in pairs. If you pull the other side and it corrects the problem, you might want to replace both. Be careful not to touch the bulb(s) in either case, they say its bad for the bulb to get skin oil on it.

The reason I asked if he was being serious is because his profile says he is an engineer. I would think an engineer would understand how a light bulb works....

I must admit that my first reaction was to post something like posts 3 + 4 in this thread.
