They should have a recall on the seatbelt and Passenger Airbag sensors on 2006 chevrolet Aveo not long after we bought the car it started to have the Passenger Airbag off even when someone was sitting in the seat. Another lite that is on is the Airbag light we took it to the dealer to get it fixed they fixed it but weeks later it came back on and is still on.
depends on the weight of the person, when lighter people sit in the seat the airbag will stay off, I think they go by weird standards, like that smaller people should never sit in the front seat, there are even guldelines for people under 4-11" to sit in a booster seat in the back seats, I dont know lol
Well the technician who fixed the first time said the wire under the passenger seat is loose and had to be fixed.
I know people of 150 lbs that can't turn on the airbags in my 2008.

I will think of a better signature later.
I think that it's a connecting pin to your passenger seat airbag. My 2010 had the airbag light come on and I took it to the stealership. They did it under warranty, though they took forever to do it. That was several months ago, and no problems so far. It seems to be a defect in many Aveos, but it can be resolved easily.
actually my 2005 wave was recalled....
they re routed a coolant line next to the that black hose that connects to the intake im not sure how to descirbe it but they said it helps with starting in the cold weather.
I recently went to the dealership because our airbag light was still coming on after they'd tried turning it off a couple of times. Turns out the airbag mechanism... not sure what you call it, that is affixed to the bottom of the passenger seat needs replacement and you can't just replace the mechanism - they said they have to REPLACE THE WHOLE PASSENGER SEAT!! at $1,000 and some change to get the airbags working again :/
Any suggestions would be much appreciated... Don't feel safe driving the little thing without any airbags but don't want to fork over a third of what the car is worth either to have a safe car again.... sigh*
Thanks
It is a little connector under the passenger seat. The dealership replaced it under warranty, and I have not had any problems with it in over 15,000 miles. I would seriously get a second or third opinion from another dealership. It sounds like they are trying to scam you.
I just received Recall information from GM for my 2010:
2010 Pontiac G3/Wave Degraded Connection between Ignition Coil Spark Plug Boots and Spark Plugs.
I'm not sure if this includes the Aveo as well but I imagine it does. Also this isn't really that bad of a recall either, new spark plugs and wires for me!
