      My door lock went missing!

I went to leave work last night and noticed that my handle felt loose when I opened the door. I looked and the lock is just gone. The whole handle feels a little loose but is still in there. Have any of you ever heard of an issue like this? Think someone tried to break in? My alarm never went off so nobody got the door open.

      Hello Markbro,

Sorry to hear about this. I would suggest taking your vehicle into the dealership to have them take a look at your door handle to see what the story is. Please keep me posted on what you find out.

Had this happen to me too. Went to police and filed report because it happened less than a month after I moved, and swore it was vandals.

turns out the weather just made the nut break.

if it was vandals odds are there would be a scratch or gouge in the door handle.

This happened to me too, but it was not messed with, the nut just simply came undone by regular usage. I just put a little locktite on it and no problems since. Not saying someone didn't mess with it, but hopefully you don't have any more problems after the fix!

This happened to me too, and I am pretty sure it was because someone tried to break in to me car because it was on the passenger side, but who knows for sure, I remember one day just noticing that my locks were loose, and used occams razor.. plus the passenger door gets far, far less use than the drivers side and the lock fell in on that side. Actually I just did the drivers side too and used blue locktite. Fortunately I had a tech friend show me how to do it on the passenger side first... not too difficult for the novice getting the window winder clip off was the hardest thing for me!!
