Does 'broke' mean they stripped the pan threads? If so, you can buy an oversized drain plug, available at your local auto parts store. But why aren't you taking it back to iffy lube and have them clean up the mess they made on their dime?

I can't imagine how anyone could fracture a metal oil pan by torquing a drain plug, because those threads aren't nearly strong enough, and should strip out long before the pan itself breaks. Well anyway you say it's cracked so we'll move on from that head-scratcher question. You need to get input from someone who has (or has worked on) an '09 with the same tranny that you have. The procedure for my '05 is to disconnect the cat/front pipe assembly at the exhaust manifold, but that may not be the case for your '09. And there may be other removal/install differences as well, so you need to get the specfic procedure for your vehicle. But one thing for certain is that the pan gasket is RTV only - there are no solid gaskets available for any Aveo oil pan from any of the parts outfits. Once again, did you try to discuss this with the shop that did the oil change? You paid to have the job done right, and they are required to completely fix the mess they made. You would have no problem getting full compensation in small claims court, and the shop knows this as well.
