Never Let sears put struts on the car.

On February 19, 2011 I let Sears put struts on my car Okay fast forward to last week when the wheel bearing went bad. I got the New Hub and Bearing And I got everything off except for the Bolts that Mount the strut to the steering Knuckle. Long story short I can't budge the things and to make it worse they are Stripped badly I hope That someone can fix it I am dreading going to get it fixed in the morning.

Sounds like the tech used the impact on your strut mounting bolts before making sure they were threaded properly.

i had a tech doing an alignment actually snap off 3 of the 4 strut bolts and not tell anyone (especially me). It was the worst drive home ever, and the absolute last time i paid someone else for an alignment.

That's lawsuit material... Getting into some real safety issues when jacking up someone's suspension. I am glad that where I take my vehicle, the mechanic who does the suspensions is personally known and recommended by several people in my area. I have dealt with the company several times and will go to them when I do my lowering springs and more importantly KYB shocks and struts.

Rabbit you do have me curious about doing my own alignments now though, how much time does it take you to do one? I am going to look up how to do them later.

if you spend some money on the tools to make it easier (i made my own for @ $30, but you can buy them off bay for what ever you want to spend.

The first time i did it, it took me 3-4 hours, as i was setting up everything, making the tools, verifying everything over and over..

now i know the degree angle changes of the suspension loaded and unloaded so i can get it pretty close just as i am putting it together, and start to finish is less than an hour on the front end. I have had no need to do the rear.

i used this as a primary guide and then looked at what tools are available to make it easier:

      Alignment
