      New guy have some questions

OK, So I am very new to this kind of vehicle, but I purchased a 2008 Chevy aveo LS sedan with about 28k on it. What are some things i need to worry about??? What should I look for. Also the horn and the clock does not work is there a way to fix this. Also I am missing the ash tray, could some one point me in the right direction to track on down... maybe even a part number..

      Thanks now for any response

I'm scratching my head on what you said there. I consider my Aveo to be just another small 4 cylinder vehicle, very similar to many others that I've owned in the past. Not trying to be a wise guy, just curious what you mean by "this kind of vehicle".
But AFA worring about it - don't . Just change the oil at 5K (or more if you use syn), and read the owner's manual for the other recommended maintenance. In particular, get the timing belt done according to schedule!
BTW, how did the oil look when you bought it? Good luck with your new car!

If you have an automatic, make sure you drain the oil, not transmission fluid. If you pull the wrong plug about 3-4 liters of transmission fluid will come out and need to be replaced.

ha ha shakatu I almost made that mistake when I first got my 2011 aveo. I owned a honda before, so the placement of the transmission fluid fooled me. I didn't drain too much before I realized that red fluid was coming out. I never even got the bolt out.

Hey, DC, you can look up GM parts websites online or call a dealer and order the part from them, depending on who can get you the better deal.

I meant a smaller car. Sorry for the confusion, I haven't driven a car this small before.
