New here, need help so I am turning to the experts.

I have a 2009 Chevy Aveo 4-Door, base model with Manual Trans.

I have at times taken it down two track roads, gently.

The other day, I am driving at about 50 down a gravel road and hit a mega pothole. The car pops out of gear and when I went to put it back in, I found out my shifter moved all over. I was able to get it in gear, but when I would accelerate it would pull the shifter forward, when I let off it would move back.

Fast forward, took it to the dealer. I fubar'd the entire shift linkage pieces. They were bent (not broken) and have since been replaced by the dealer. Also I snapped one ear on the tranny. The dealer tapped in a longer bolt and bipassed the ear for the time being.

The entire shift pattern appears to be too far forward. When I am in the top gears (1,3,5 or R) it pushes in my cup holder. Also shifting in and out of reverse is damn near impossible.

Does anyone know what else I may have messed up that would cause these symptoms?

Does anyone have an exploded view of the trans and the attachments?

Sounds nasty, how much did the dealer charge you to do what they did? Did you ask the dealer about the problem as well?

Dealer charged $300 for the work they did. They claimed they adjusted it all they could. My thought is maybe they adjusted it the wrong way. I cannot understand what else could have been torqued to move the shift linkage that far out of wack.
