Yes, get in there yourself with rags and throttle body cleaner. And definitely remove the TPS, clean it, and check the wires and connector halves for corrosion/damage. You will need to use a very short, or angled screwdriver. If doing all of that doesn't kill the code, I would hang a new TPS on for $35 (or do it the right way and test the part first if you can find the specs). These throttle bodies aren't like the newer ones where none of the sensors can be replaced. Shouldn't be any reason to replace the TB on the '06, unless it somehow cracked.
