      Please help with error code

Ok so i noticed my car driving abit odd lately. Ive drivin the car for the past 3 years i can tell when something is starting to go wrong. So i took it to autozone since i dont have a scan tool and they told me i have a P2610 error besides the error for not having a CAT. I was wondering what this code means im not really sure wut it means by "ECM not programmed" or something like that. Also I use 93 octane gas in my car and i went from my usual 27-29mpg to a now 22-23mpg. I just wanted to know because my gas has never been drained this quick. Plus I need help on how to fix this error code. Please any help is appreciated.

Error p2610 means the clock in the ECM and soaker timer of the EVAP system doesn't syncronize. Usually that is caused by a bad ECM since it's all built-in. Try clearing the code first to see if it happens again.

Running 93 octane is pretty useless unless you have high compression pistons or supercharger/turbo... But it wouldn't cause p2610.

Like i know my clock has been like resetting itself sometimes on the dash. Like ill fix it next day itll be wrong again. How do i clear the code and if it comes back that means i need a new ECM?

Not the dash clock, the ECU clock (runs in MHz, not seconds). Yes if the code keeps coming back you might need a new ECM. Is the car still under warranty? The ECM might be covered under drivetrain or emissions since P2610 is emissions related.

Not anymore its an 05 so warrenty already expired. I guess I can call dealer and see. Probably gonna cost me a lot going to them. Would the headers be the cause of the code? I know I don't have a CAT. And just a question but when I put my car in reverse it feels like the engine rocks. Also is our tranny fluid supposed to be red or yellowish?

The header has nothing to do with it. The code relates to ECM functions of the evaporative system only. If the ECM is bad, I'm sure you can find a used one pretty much anywhere. Going to the dealer is not a bad idea in this case.

If the transmission is automatic, the fluid should be red. If it's a manual transmission, the fluid will be golden to dark brown.

First, you are positive of the code? i would say if it is in fact a issue and comes back, then buy an ecm off ebay, get on with a guarantee that way if it is bad, you can get a good one. (only way to check a used ecm is to try to use it).

you might just need plugs or wires, even a coil pack? when was the last time you've done those?

The coil pack is what your ignition wires connect to. I wouldn't replace it unless you know you're getting misfires. But, in that case I do have an extra laying around from my engine swap, and love to get rid of it (cheap).

I'm also not sure what color my granny fluid is.

Lol sorry just noticed I wrote that. I was using my phone and it has stupid auto correct on words. But I just want to know cus most tranny fluid is red that I've seen. If it keeps giving me problem I was thinking of upgrading to the sonic. Cus now I think i have an oil leak somewhere. The head has like fresh oil trail on it. Plus found fresh oil on the floor.
