possible head gasket?
2010 aveo lt auto 93k
Recently the cars had a hot coolant smell that's impossible to miss. Car temp is as usual, no overheating but seems like it has a small miss. Looking under the hood its wet at the base of the black cover that covers the plugs and oil cap at the drivers side end, over top the thermostat housing and down over the housing. Any coolant added to the tank is gone in maybe 2 weeks(?) and turns brown after little time, no sludge deposits like are notorious with blown head gaskets tho
Ideas??

If you have oil in the cooling system, you normally will have coolant in the oil for a blown gasket. If not, it may be the trans cooler in the radiator leaking ATF into the cooling system.

If that's the case, your oil cooler is bad just bypass it and hang an after market cooler in front of the radiator... Get a good one and make sure it's big enough to do the job.
