Radio and clock stopped working! Help!

So, I am an idiot who knows nothing about cars. I know there are already threads kind of about this, but I'm still confused.

I have a 2008 Chevy Aveo 4-door sedan.

My radio has quit working. The display doesn't turn on or display any messages at all. The audio doesn't work even if I plug in an mp3 player into the aux port.

The clock resets to 1:00 every time I turn the car on but, obviously, the display works.

This all happened after an oil change. The dudes there said that the battery died and seemed to have no idea that any of this stuff stopped working.

I found a fuse (a longer one than the rest and yellow) (sorry again for the language that makes it so obvious that I have no idea what I'm doing). I pulled it out and put it back in and that was my best effort for any technical work. It didn't work.

I've read about reset codes and radio anti-theft locks. I don't know how I'd enter any codes. I tried holding the power button, but no message displayed.

Please help. Long drives to work without a radio are painful.

Yes, what was it? My Aveo (06) does this from time to time. My radio (aftermarket) turns off and comes back on a short time after. Sometimes the clock goes off right along with it and when it comes back on it resets to 1. I always thought I was the only one with this problem

I have a somewhat similar problem I just replaced the water pump (2004 LS sedan), timing belt, serpentine belt, flushed the radiator and did an oil change. Everything now works fine except that the radio doesn't work, but shows a message: "code_ _ _ _" like it's asking for a code or something. I disconnected the battery to change the timing belt...

The clock works fine. I have never seen this before (and this is the second time I changed the timing belt (only 75K mi) :/

Actually, looking in the manual (duh) it says that when the audio system is disconnected from the battery the theft deterrent system activates and a security code must be entered to operate the radio. However, I bought the car used and don't remember receiving a card with the security code stamped on it. Also, I have replaced the battery and did not need to enter a code at that time. And I have disconnected the battery before for several other repairs and have never seen this code required.

Does anyone know where I can retrieve the code?

How have you get it done???? my aveo has the same issue. I bring to the mechanic, and even him couldnt figure it out!

I was able to find these codes by searching the internet. I think 1144 worked for me, but you may have to try some of them till it works. In my case the code _ _ _ _ thing came up and I used one of the knob to move through the numbers on each digit. I think I chose a number by pushing the left knob and using the right knob to scroll through the digits.
