The radio display on my 07 has gone black. Any ideas on a fix or is it time for a new radio?

does turning on the dimmer / headlight switch change it any? for theprice of diagnosis it might be cheaper to just replace, sedan or hatch?
No, theres no differance when the lights are on or off. It's completely black. The radio still works just can't see the station. it's a sedan
so its the new dash and double din radio?
i would say pull it out and see if you take the top off and the light burned out, where to look i dont know.
or if it is the new dash and double din, and has the newer plug design, i will sell you an oem cd player with aux input cheap. but it will be red lights not green.
buzzkiller, then you can just change the rest of your lighting to red LEDs...

on a 2007 you also need to verify the plug on the back is going to be either the earlier style or newer.
this is the early 2004-2008ish plug (old dash but also some newer dash models in 2007 sedans), it is white and one connector?:
this is the later 2008 & up (newer dash, all ecotec cars) plug, it is black, and has two connectors:
you need to just pull your radio and they buy an oem radio that has the same plug on the back.
any 07+ sedan has the new dash
fuses
thats always my problem
If you replace with a new oem radio, will it require to be programed by the dealer
no, unless you mean new from the dealer.
I've put 3 oem radios ive bought used off ebay into my car.. all worked when i plugged them in.
