Rear main seal walked out
Good Day,
I have decided to finally fix my oil leak on my 2004 Aveo Automatic with 280,xxx KM. I removed the transmission and found the seal was rubbing on the flex plate. It cut about half way through the plate. I have a replacement now but I'm worried about it happening again. It was leaking oil from the valve cover and rear main when I bought it. I did the valve cover and it stopped. I did a dye test to confirm the rear main was leaking (before putting myself through this torture) and the valve cover has a very very small leak again. I confirmed that it had no cracks when it was off. Back to the main issue the previous owner thought they were a "mechanic" I've mainly had to redo repairs they did previously to make it proper. I hope they overfilled the oil and that was the initial cause. But if it's not what should I be going over? So far feedback has been to confirm my PCV valve is working (due to me using stop leak previously) and to do a compression leak down test. Anyone encounter this issue before? Any help or feedback will be appreciated. Thank you
