      Rear wheel bearing

      Hey all,

So I have the taper bearing that goes in the rear of the drum but as I was on my way home I realized that I don't have a seal. I don't recall even seeing remnants of a seal.
There should be a seal there right?? If so, anyone have the part number? Preferably a National/BCA number.

No seal. The bearing is sealed.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

thats the cap, most cars have a dust seal the goes on "first' to the spindle.. would be pushing into the back of the hub before the hub goes onto the spindle..

(i for one dont know first hand)

A taper bearing is NOT sealed. (so I thought until I got into it now again.)

Nope, that is the dust cap. I'm asking if there is a seal that goes on the opposite side of the drum to keep the grease on the bearing from spraying all over inside the drum.

Nope, I have to GET a bearing first. no one around here stocks them and the damned things are expensive for such a small car. I'm used to $30 would replace the 4 taper bearings and 2 seals on BOTH SIDES of the rear of a VW. And get my a 6-pack of tall boys to drink while doing it.
