reverse lights

I have an 09 manual transmission Aveo. In the last few weeks I've noticed the reverse light s do not work.

Any ideas ? I thought maybe the contact switch near the stick shift ?

actually, the Reverse Light Switch is located on the transmission, but the first rule of thumb about lighting problems is to check the fuses, relays, and bulbs first.

Looked at bulbs and fuse .. couldn't find anything. I have looked around the web and saw where the reverse light switch bolts onto the transmission.

This is annoying .. timing belt at 37,000 , ignition coil at 45,000 , plugs , clock resets , and leaking anti-freeze in bottom right corner of drivers side.

Looks like yet another fun issue to deal with .
