Right brake light not coming on

So the brake light on the passenger side of my '04 aveo is not coming on when I press the brake pedal. The light bulbs are fine and both come one when I turn on the headlights so the problem has to be somewhere in the electrical system. Has anyone had this problem before and how did you solve it.

Are you sure the bulb is OK? The tail light & brake light use different filaments inside the bulb.

All of them looked intact to me when I checked earlier today, I'll look again tomorrow just to be sure.

Often the filament looks OK, but when you flick it with your finger you can see it wiggling where it's broken. Or try swapping with a known good one.

Might as well start with the easy stuff, anyway.

Your text and title are confusing. So the right brake light is not coming on? And yet the text seems to indicate just the brake light (both sides). Metro is right just replace the bulbs.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

you could also check the wiring going to the bulbs using a multimeter to determine if power is even getting there or not
