Rough idle
Hello ,
I recently bought a 2004 for 600 bucks , has 162k. the car has a check engine light and runs a bit rough at idle only hence the good deal i got. I borrowed my friends scanner and came up with heater circut bank 1 sensor 1 so i replaced it. I cleared the light after replacement of sensor and still came back on and failed smog because of it,(light was off when i took it in) it passed emissions, now to the rough idle , ive been driving it around quit a bit and seems to run rough at idle, one day it got really bad and would run rough at accel also so i changed the plugs and wire and it ran a lot better at accel and normal operateing rpms but still runs rough at idle. Engine light is still on ran codes came up with a few includeing a generatic code with no number , transmission module fault and one more i forgot, im thinking the computer is going kinda crazy, im thinking of changing the coil packs next??? Your help would be great. I cant find any vaccum leaks

Coil pack, there are at least 1000 threads and most end with a coil pack :D
For 600 you can not go wrong, any ideal when the timing belt was done last?

Thanks I kinda figured it could be the coil pack i hope so haha, I dont know when they did the timimg belt i know it was a company car so probably within the last 60 k, im going to inspect it and see what condition its in.

Coil pack replaced same symtoms:confused: seems like it got worse, I unplug what I think is the mass air flow sensor ( kinda small) and nothing happens while its running, I'm going to run the scanner again I guess.

Yeah, post up the actual codes.
