Should the airbag light flash at startup?

On our 2009 Aveo, the airbag light flashes a few times at startup. Should it flash or be solid?
On our Explorer and Chrysler, the airbag light normally is solid for about 5 seconds at startup.
Also on the Explorer, the flashing airbag light indicates an error code, which is why I'm asking about the Aveo. We had to replace the Airbag Control Module when we got the vehicle.

On page 3-26 and 3-27 of the 2009 Aveo owners manual it states that:

"This [airbag] light comes on when the vehicle is started, and it will flash for a few seconds.
When the light goes out this indicates the system is functioning properly.
If the airbag readiness light ever comes on and stays on, it means that something may be wrong
with the airbag system. To help avoid injury to yourself or others, have the vehicle serviced right
away."
