yeah i bought the aveo because of the new car warranty.. im not going to fix anything myself i dont have to (break down repairs).

i have a vw in the garage for when i feel like working on something.

it will be fixed eventually, meanwhile i have a cobalt (which is built to the quality of my last chevette) to drive around.

I think the lesson here is... don't get a first-year model that has just been redesigned. Wait a year or two so GM hopefully works the problems out on the future carry-over models. My friend had a '93 Ford Ranger once, and that year was the first year of a complete engine, transmission and body redesign. It had every problem a car could have! He eventually sold it and got a later model year, and it rarely had an issue.

That's why I got an '08 Aveo... its mostly the same design since '04, but its had 4 years of tweaks. I'm not a dealer or a mechanic, so I might not even know what the heck I'm talking about, so correct me if I'm wrong.

the 09 is sort of the same, most of the changes are in appearance, but the doors etc are the same. And the different engine is a carry over part, from another daewoo used for a few years also. The interior is a carry over from the sedan.. Dont know much about every little part though. But i had a first year focus, made it 1400 miles before the clutch became "optional" and the fuel pump, and alternator died within the first 5000..

The Dealer called, my fuel pump will be here on friday. so it might be done friday afternoon, if it comes early enough. Guess i won't be working on the car during my break..

and better yet, they replaced all my tires under warranty! (the alignment has been a little off ever since the lowering springs went on) but i have new tires now!

now i just have to ask them about the radio code to install my CD headunit...

their dealership actually has one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings for the longest time period for Chevy dealers in pittsburgh... they also just celebrated their 75th anniversary as a dealer..
