Start issues

I have a 2009 Aveo5 LT and lately I've been having an issue where i turn the key off and take it out of the ignition and all the lights are still on the dash as if the car were still on and i won't be able to start the car. Before this i drove the car and stopped turned the key off and took the key out and the engine was still running and had to stall it out to get it to stop running

really...thats very odd n troublesome, I was gonna say thats typical immobilizer behavior, but after reading motor stays running...I dunno...can you drive away without key in? all accessories still work? many only work with switch in forward position...recently done any under dash wiring? underhood wiring, bad battery ground or parasitic drain on starter circuit or nuetral safety switch. My p/u '81 & jeep cj5, & '70 elcamino will stay running, but you pull key out in run position, turn switch back n they shut down. I've intentionally done this to all my gm steering columns. ez really. but to turn off position n it stays running...have to be nuetral safety switch...automatic or standard tranny? how do you stall automatic?..

It's a manual transmission, haven't done any work that involves wiring. I thought it was the ignition switch but tried replacing that and it will still do the same thing all lights on dash will stay on after i turn the car off and take the key out and i wont be able to start it, i can get the lights to turn off and get it started after playing with one of the battery cables and wiggling it around
