Sounding like a flaky module, but would be worth checking battery and terminals. The car is barely two years old, always garaged, exceptionally clean under the hood. I know that battery terminals can become oxidized, increased resistance, etc., but believe me - if ever there were a situation where it doesn't look that way, this is it.

Now for an update: about a week after my initial comments, it got worse, and started doing the same reset to 1:00 several times per day. Then suddenly, the problem abated. It hasn't done it again at all now for several weeks.

This is the type of intermittent problem that can drive someone crazy. Thank God it's only the clock...
