Sucking sound from underneath coil pack cover

This poor car is going to nickel and dime me to death; as the title suggests, there is now a sucking sound around cylinder 2 under the coil pack cover. It also came with two DTCs, a P0445 and a P0507. It also won't idle down anymore unless you put it into drive. I REALLY hope I'm not looking at a valve cover; because it's $150!

Isn't there a PCV valve hook up right around there? it might just be that. If it is leaking that is too much air, causing the Idle issue as well. That is what your codes point to anyhow..

You could always JB weld that. But, sometimes OEM is too expensive.

      $52 here :

And the picture confirms the PCV valve location. Make sure it is hooked up.. Might be "free"

I had a look at my service manual; and I found this passage describing how the PCV system works on the LXV/LDE/LLU/2H0 engines.

From what it describes in the Incorrect Operation table, it looks like the calibrated orifice in my valve cover is leaking. And I can kiss $165 goodbye; because NOBODY but GM has that valve cover!

...and one new German made Valve Cover and $165 later(fun fact, the new valve cover CAME with a new gasket AND captured bolts!) all is well with the ScootaDrive again! Now the REAL fun begins! Saving up for my timing belt!

Glad it is fixed. Could you see what broke on the old cover?

Well, when I pulled the old cover off, the cover gasket was starting to go hard. My theory is that something broke internally in the orifice, although the parts guys at my dealer tried to scare me into thinking that the PCV baffle inside the intake manifold had broken (it's actually a common problem in the Cruze from what they told me), but the LXV intake manifold is a nearly $600 part, and I wasn't about to wipe out my checking account to find out!
