My wife's '07 LS 5-speed transmission has no neutral. The shifter linkage is definitely in the neutral position but the clutch still engages. All gears are available except for neutral.
Has anyone run into this problem? I'm guessing it's internal but the car has only 140,000 on it.
If you can go from one get to the next, what is going on in between gears? Neutral isn't really a thing, its the lack of being in something.
Can you shift and drive? pushing in the clutch still frees the engine?
Oh ya, the clutch disengages but is always in a gear. I removed the entire shift linkage and am shifting from the input fork. All gear positions are/were there until I started the engine and tried to find neutral/nothing. After doing that, the input shaft was hard to move, not frozen but tough to get back into a gear. After a while, it becomes easier.
What the hell???
