Its the same as aveo it's a Canada only car
First thing to try is disconnecting and examining the TCM connector for corrosion. This was reported in a prior thread to fix someone's A/T Aveo problem.
If that doesn't help, then find a shop with a reader capable of reading TCM codes. (hopefully as a minimal cost or N/C) The P0700 is a generic code which indicates specific TCM codes have been set, and those codes often point directly to the specific problem.
So you say the reverse lights are NOT working? This may be a big clue it is a dirty connector. Chime back in if you still have not resolved, or if you see the U0100 code as well.
I have the po705 which is the trans range sensor. I've gone ahead and ordered a neutral safety switch which in turn is a combination of sensors. I hope when I install and clear codes it will solve the problem. ($300 cdn).will keep you posted on the results
Wow, they clip you good - where did you order from? Did you try disconnecting it and check the connector/wiring?
I haven't tried that. I ordered from Canadian tire. Comes with year warranty. I will try the connections after work tonight
Sorry for the leave of absence. Had to stick up for my wife and wound up in jail.
So,I've replaced the switch and nothing. Money well wasted lol. I blew my rad so that will need to be replaced. So I have it parked now and decided to figure out why the Sun roof won't function. After using a volt meter I was confused. So I'm in the car and I'm trying the air conditioning out and my buddy comes in so I showed him what I'm working on as I press the sunroof button it works.so it only works with the fan is on and my running lights come on too .strange???? I'm thinking it all may be related
Any help? Need the car to pass emissions
You listed quite a few issues, not sure where to start, what codes do you see , is it running at all now?? TCM still throwing 705? If you are tackling the trans I would check the connectors and grounds, any that feed the TCM.
That would be located in with the shifter cover ?
The TCM is located right above your right foot under the dash. The grounds as I recall are the one on the starter bolt (under the car) and one by the fuse box under the hood and possibly another point.
The connectors are all outlined on the schematics, you may need to check them all. C101 for example, I know from experience can get wet when it rains, and rain will drip onto it and eventually the connection can get dicey. C101 carries the canbus traffic between the TCM and the ECM, (issues with this circuit present a U0100 DTC) and it also carries the backup light circuit, so dicey backup lights can be a clue it's a bad/dirty connection possibly. There are a few connector point, but I have only had trouble with C101 under the coolant tank under the hood. Once you know you have solid connections and grounds, then you can throw parts and money at it if nothing comes up.
