If any other autostore offers Mobil 3309 that is another Type IV fluid.

the best place to get transmisssion fluid is the toyota dealer - ask for type T-IV it is about $5 a quart if you are just doing a drain and refil it will take about 3 quarts. If you drop the pan and replace the filter it will take between 4 and 5 depending on how much fluid you got out
Lucas Oil Multi-Vehicle ATF can also be used.
The difference is that Dexron III is not synthetic and Dex IV is partially synthetic - and Dex IV costs more. Either one will work, because the transaxle was originally designed to use Dexron III. Theoretically the synthetic version should last longer. The important thing is that having clean fluid in your tranny is better protection against transmission failure than leaving dirty, worn fluid unchanged.Quote:
