      Trouble fueling my 2008 Aveo

I'm having trouble fueling my car at the gas pump. The pump shuts off after a dollar of fuel has been added, as if it's full. Nothing wrong with the fuel gauge and I know it was nearly empty.

Thinking it might be the pump, I tried a different station several days later, with the same result.

I will add that the check engine light came on about week before I discovered the fueling issue, but haven't had the car scanned yet.

Anyone have a similar issue or ever heard of this problem?

      Thanks,
      Paul

I'm sure with the code you will get a better response but I do know that on your owners manual it does mention to replace the EVAP vent solenoid valve at 60,000 miles/100,000 KM.

I just replaced that on my 2003 Silverado @ 90,000 mi.

The Aveo owners manual also recommends replacing the spark plugs at 40K. I have the plugs, just waiting for a nice weekend.

Would the EVAP Vent prevent fueling the vehicle?

Let me get it scanned and I'll have more info.

      Thanks for the response.

      Hi Paul,

I would suggest reviewing your Owner's Manual pg. 6-5 which looks at reviewing Scheduled Maintenance for your Aveo. I would suggest taking your vehicle into have it diagnosed to ensure nothing serious is going on.
