Water pump needs Lubriplater on the seal? Is there a equivalant?

When did the pump on my friends b13 Ga16 Sentra, we put gasket maker between the seal and the pump housing. Wonder if it's referring to that?

Generally used between the seal and the oil/trans pans on cars, too.

I'm guessing the gasket is an o-ring, so you probably just need to lubricate it so that it doesn't bind on anything when it's placed.

Exactly, I am going to use a LIGHT coat of assembly lube on the seal before installing the pump. Should be good to go.
