      Weird issue, please help.

Bear with me, cause this might come out confusing. I have a 2005 Chevy Aveo, and I have an issue with my dashboard and passenger tail and fog lights not coming on when I turn my headlights on. The drivers side lights come on, and lights not involved in the use of the headlights, like my clock, the radio, my turn signals, ect., all work. I checked the fuses, all are good. We checked the basic wiring under the dash, all look good. Don't know what else to do. Would much rather fix this myself then take it to the dealer. Any advice?

My first bit of advice would be to make sure all of the fuses involving those systems are in good working order and aren't blown. To disable our day running lamps all you have to do is pull a fuse. This kinda makes me think that since those things aren't working for you maybe it could be a blown fuse. Good luck!

Check your brake light bulbs. I'm not sure if Aveo's are this way, but I've seen this very thing other vehicles where the dash lights go out if you loose your brake lights.

I had to rip out the burnt splice pack under the hood and bypass the wires by splicing them back together, this fixed all those problems except my dashboard lights

That's weird because I also had to splice my wires for the fuse box inside the engine and all my lights were working perfectly fine after that.

Try the taillight fuses first and foremost. The tails and dash lights are all on the same circuit

The lighting harness is another known issue, per my local dealership. At some point, all the wiring from front to back will have to be pulled and replaced. The harness will only hold for so long. I've had mine replaced twice.
