Well, my warranty expires in a week...

What should I check to see if its breaking...

34500 miles on it, and my bumper to bumper warranty expires october 29th

My car currently is being fixed at a dealership under warranty for thermastat problems (too cold), leaking shock, air vent covers broken, radio not working, rusted off trunk switch


Most of those are minor issues, whats something major I should be looking out for? I have the 2008

i dont think there is any one common problem with "every" aveo. it seems its just a few bad parts get through quality control in every batch (to keep costs down?) so we get a few items needing fixed but they arent the same parts car to car.

BUT expensive repairs that i feel are too common (taking you 08 into consideration) are the rear beam bushing failure, over $1000, and front suspension "looseness" i'll call it, seems to be fixed different ways each time but inmost cases the dealer seems to waste a lot of time throwing parts at it..

havent had a single problem here, and i drive it harder than most

53k, so far only changed the serpentine acessorie belt and idler gear... Now need to start looking into changing the timing belt, sucks! Probably brake pads soon.

I'm kind of sort of mechanically inclined, and my girlfriend's dad is a mechanic... so I'm not super worried

U shouldnt have any problems if u takecare of ur ride...

Have your Heater Box checked! At 48,000 mine started to leak - they want $1,500.00 to fix it (11 hours labor). I had them bypass the box, now I have no heat, no defrost. I'm still making payments on my '08, Im not into spending $1,500 more - please put this fix on your warranty list if you can
