Well I got a recall notice in the mail today. Its to fix the possibility of the throttle body freezing. It appears the first 2 attempts didn't quite rectify the problem.

Guess they can't get it right... no recalls on the throttle-by-wire 2006+ (regardless, my TB coolant is bypassed)
This got me thinking. I wonder if I could get off a speeding ticket like ontario's over 50 law saying my throttle body froze and I was on my way to the dealership to get the recall installed. :lol: dont worry, Im joking
I had a recall on my fuel line for the 07 sedan. the fuel line? come on.
Certain vehicles equipped with a 1.6L engine may develop a fuel leak as a result of fuel line rupture in a frontal crash test. In addition, the crash damage caused four short circuits in the fuse block, the combination of which allowed the fuel pump to continue running, allowing fuel to be pumped onto the ground. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuse block and install a redesigned section of fuel line.Quote:

OKay so I took my car in for the recall and they sure did do alot of work from the looks of it.
Now my engine bay looks really ugly I must say. They add this insulation wrap held on my hose clamps around a few of the tubes. Mind you some of the wrap is a bright orange. It reminds me of some haggard work my highschool autoshop teacher would do. Though they did clean up the throttle body, intake, and engine bay in general.
I'll get some pics soon, as my brother has the camera.

i got one of them mirrors... i think mine may be a bit wider, cant be sure from the pic tho but they are so nice to have. my mirror can get wider to as it has lil slide out mirrors on the sides :o great for the blindspots of where ur sideviews lack.
That recall looks so ghetto... If I go in and They tell me I have a recall. I will definitly tell them to **** off with their zip ties and insulation and fix it right. That would piece me off if they did that.

Im guessing the recall is for anyplace that sees temperatures below -20*(Celsius) Since below that is when supposedly them throttle can freeze up and stick.
im sure it can apply to all aveos but it would be pointless if u lived in texas or arizona. but im sure that if u really wanted u could bring it in for a just in case situation.
so the mod is the black wrap??
