I didn't like the "Contest" GM held with the Orion, MI Plant, the Janesville, WI SUV Plant, and the Spring Hill, TN Plant (which is in My area) it got the workers hopes up in the Janesville and Spring Hill areas, which were promptly crushed when Orion was announced as the Winner. (Luckily, as of this Post, Spring Hill is now cranking out Chevy Equinoxes (or as I like to call them: "Molten Hotcakes") as fast as the General Public is buying them!)
kevin7898,

the mpg ratings are still too bias and "advertising" more so than factual information.
Last time I researched it, they still used pure gas for the test. Most states have at least 10% ethanol which robs efficiency.
Also the test for city driving is more like spread out suburb driving and does not include idling in traffic.
IIRC the cars are also fully warmed up etc, which is also not calculated into the fuel used for the test, but uses fuel in actuality.
I dont know about anyone else. But I am personally tired of the obviously manufactured responses from "chevy customer service" answers that are of no help at all, just telling us to go to our local dealer to spend more money to find out what we akready knew, rant over
And the run yhe test at 75km/h who actually runs 75 km/h in a 100 zone?
All I can say is that my wife loves the mpg in her Sonic hatchback over the first gen Aveo she used to have and you should see some of the mpg numbers we're cranking out over at Cruzetalk.com with the Cruze Eco rated at 42mpg/hwy. Alot of us with our Eco packages, me included are getting well over that rating. I've clocked and averaged 46/47mpg on more than one occasion on a highway trip.
Missing our beloved 1st gen Aveos everyday!
Silence is golden. Duct tape is silver!!
04 Aveo (mine gone but never forgotten)
07 Aveo 5 (wifes car gone but never forgotten)
02 Suburban (Eats gas stations as snacks)
12 Cruze Eco 6MT (46mpg daily? Holy crap!)
12 Sonic 2LT (Wifeys new wheels)
Chevoo-1/2 Chevy, 1/2 Daewoo. I mean like WTF?
