I talked to a guy (via email) who is doing drive testing of the Sonic. Looks like a lot of pre-productions are being tested all over US before the launch. GM is counting a lot on this car. He said, it's one of the BEST cars [in it's class] that he has tested. He said it drives like a mini Corvette. and is very peppy.

      My first post!

Its an Automatic. I think they reserve the nice packages and models for more experienced GM guys.

One side note on the Sonic interior: there is an area in the middle-top of the dash for holding things like cell phones and other various things. It's deep so I thought, I wonder if my cell phone would fly out of the area if my buddy does some tight turns? We tested it on a traffic circle with my slippery LG VX5500 in the well. It did not fly out!!! There are also separate cubby holes to either side of the radio for holding sunglasses and other stuff that size.

It's a very thoughtfully designed vehicle.

Mini-corvette? That sounds a little biased Although I was very, very, very impressed with the balance of the vehicle. Almost no understeer for a front wheel drive vehicle, that's hard to accomplish.

Edit: I'd love a forum sticker but I value my friendship with the driver and respect the nature of his job so I'm not taking pics, at least until the car is for sale at dealerships. Sorry.

Of course, he is one of the test engineers! But his comment was to say, the suspension is well designed.

Looks like an awesome car, just a bit too much money for a new car nowadays in general, after I pay my Aveo off, everything will be cash deals/trades

I really want one of those gauge clusters though
